The conference included:

The workshops focused on important topics such as residency programs creating safe havens for artists at risk, and the strategies of residential art centers to collaborate with corporations.
Important also was the contributions of some of the world's main organizations involved in supporting international networks of artists' communities and residency initiatives - European Cultural Foundation, HIVOS and Foundation Doen, all based in the Netherlands but operating worldwide.
The optional program on Sunday October 12th was a special opportunity to meet with the eleven artists that won the Res Artis awards 2006 during the Dakar Biennale. The artists were participating in a festival in Arnhem, the Netherlands, organized by the Thamgidi Foundation, SLAK Foundation and Plaatsmaken Graphic Art Studio (all Res Artis members and based in Arnhem). The Sunday bus trip traveled to Arnhem for site visits, opportunities to meet with the award winning artists and see their work.
